Stretch. Train. Rest. Repeat.
Meet Michael Brandenburg.
Founder/Coach
Michael's path to coaching started after high school and a tour in the Marine Corps, where he first earned his fitness certification through the Cooper Institute for Aerobic Research. He went on to earn a degree in Exercise Science from Central Washington University, coaching football and fastpitch along the way, before joining the University of Washington's football, soccer, and gymnastics programs after graduating.
In 2010, Michael joined the WNBA's Seattle Storm as a strength and conditioning coach, where he worked closely with players including Lauren Jackson through post-op hip recovery. He's rebuilt his own body more than once, recovering from a torn ACL, a broken hip, and a house-fire re-injury through self-directed rehab which is part of why Trinity's programming takes recovery and long-term joint health so seriously.
Today, Michael runs Trinity Training, coaches a weekly Summer Speed School for kids as young as 4, and spends two mornings a week training a group of clients in their 90s. He continues learning from leaders across the field, including physical therapist Dr. Kelly Starrett and Olympic weightlifting coach Jarred Enderton.
We believe fitness begins with functional movement and smart progression. Our focus is on safe, effective training that builds strength, mobility, and confidence. More than just workouts, we coach foundation methods for optimal sports performance, nutrition habits and holistic health, connecting the mind and body.
Philosophy: How We Train
We're here to build something timeless. We help ideas of strength and wellness come to life. Every indiviual’s goals and willingness to put in the work is an opportunity to learn, grow, and do something meaningful. We treat our members like partners and our work like craft.
Movement first, load last. Every individual, age 4 or 90, follows the same progression:
Organization: Get the body into proper position
Range of Motion: Restore full, safe movement
Speed: Build control and coordination
Resistance: Add load only once the first three are earned
We train across all three planes of movement: frontal, sagittal, and transverse. Real life doesn't happen in a straight line.
We start every program with real data: body composition, resting heart rate, hydration, and movement analysis, so progress is always measurable.
A Faith-Driven Approach to Coaching
Michael's coaching approach is shaped by his faith in Jesus Christ. Particularly the idea of servant leadership: putting athletes' needs first, coaching the whole person, and using encouragement rather than pressure to bring out someone's best. In practice, that looks like a coach who's as invested in your character and consistency as your physical training.
Trinity Training welcomes athletes and clients of every background and belief, our door and our coaching is open to everyone.
